CLASS AQUATICS CONCLUDES LONG COURSE SEASON IN CHAMPIONSHIP FORM

CLASS Aquatics swimmers wrapped up the summer long course season in championship form. Twenty-two athletes traveled to Fresno for the Speedo CA/NV Championship Series where CLASS Aquatics finished 14th out of 66 teams. Top 16 finalists included Jackie Brousseau, Ariana Peschke, Tyler Henry, Aislinn Smalling, Alex Henley and Chase Bloch.

Thirty seven qualifying swimmers also attended the 2009 Summer Junior Olympics in Santa Clarita where the team placed 11th out of 40 teams. Top 16 finalists included Caitlin Ryan, Sarah Clarke, Jenna Farfan, Ciara Orness, Lauren Clarke, Grace O’Toole, Julia Farfan, Jade Skertich, Hayley Shillington, Ariana Peschke, Haley Preston, Nora Darago, Summer Bennett, Luke Thomas, Cody Lin, Nicholas Mason, David Puzckowski, Zach Grimaldi, Taylor Niemann, Michel Wen, David Armstrong, Tyler Henry, Spencer Boone, Michael Lorch, Jonathan Hall and Evan Anglin.

Following these meets, select CLASS swimmers represented Southern California at the North American Challenge Cup. Hayley Shillington, Tyler Henry and Jonathan Hall were selected to represent Southern California Swimming against national swimmers from Canada, Mexico, Pacific and Pacific Northwest. In addition, Chase Bloch competed in the 2009 Speedo Junior National Championships, while Alex Henley represented CLASS at the 2009 U.S. Open Championships, both traveling to Federal Way, Washington.
