CLASS Age Group swimmers storm Buena June Invite

CLASS Aquatics Age Groupers sent one of the largest contingent of swimmers to the 2009 Buena June Invite that the team has seen in years!  They competed and held their own against some of the best swimmers in Southern California.

The following swimmers participated:

Lauren Clarke (11), Sarah Clarke (9), Tori Coleman (13), Elena England (10), Jenna Farfan (8), Zach Grimaldi (12), Andre Laserna (10), Cody Lin (10), Nicholas Mason (10),  Garrett Orness (11), Alexia Palmeri (11), David Puczkowski (12), Caitlin Ryan (10), Luke Thomas (10), Vallia Yu (12), and Matthew Zhang (8).

Many of the swimmers finished within the top 16.  They include:

Lauren Clarke: 9th 50 free, 13th 100 free, 7th 200 free, 11th 400 free, 6th 50 back and 7th 100 back.

Sarah Clarke: 5th 50 breast, 6th 100 breast, 7th 50 fly, and 11th 100 fly.

Elena England: 5th 50 back

Zach Grimaldi: 9th 50 free, 4th 100 free, 6th 200 free, 4th 400 free, 3 50 back, 3 100 back.

Cody Lin: 4th 50 back,8th 100 back,11th 50 breast, and 10th 100 breast.

Nicholas Mason: 10th 50 breast, and 12th 100 breast.

Garrett Oreness: 13th 50 free, 9th 50 back, and 16th 50 fly.

David Puczkowski: 8th 50 free, 10th 100 free, 13th 200 free, 1st 50 and 100 back, and 15th 50 fly.

Caitlin Ryan: 6th 50 breast and 7th 100 breast.

Luke Thomas: 10th 50 free, 12th 100 free, 11th 200 free, 3rd 50 breast, 5th 100 breast, and 8th 200 IM.

Mathew Zhang:  15th 50 breast and 11th 100 breast.

Along with many Top 16 finishes, many best time were swam.  All swimmers swam at least 1 best time, with many swimmers swimming all best times!

The CLASS 10 and under girls and boys relays also placed within the Top 6.  The girl’s relays included:

Sarah Clarke, Elena England, Jenna Farfan, and Caitlin Ryan.  They placed 5th in the 200 Medley Relay and 6th in the 200 Free Relay. 

The boy’s relays included:

Andre Laserna, Cody Lin, Nicholas Mason, and Luke Thomas.  They placed 2nd in both the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays.  

Some great individual times were swam by both the girls and the boys during the relays!
